Has an undergraduate degree in Physics (Bachelor's and Teacher's Degree) at the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (1981), master's degree and doctor’s degree in Systems Engineering at Coppe/UFRJ (Alberto Luiz Coimbra Institute of Graduate Studies and Engineering Research, Federal University of Rio de Janeiro) His master's dissertation, MULEC - MULti Cooperative Editor for education deals with the use of Technology in Education, proposing a cooperative editing program that was used in 400 Brazilian schools. His doctoral dissertation, School makes technology, technology makes school, evaluates the impacts of technology on a school, analyzing changes in the identity and functions that it fulfills, as a result of the participation of its managers in a training program carried out remotely, centered on practices authored and supported by Digital Information and Communication Technologies (TDIC).
