Full Professor in the Education department at PUC-Rio. Doctor in Education at PUC-Rio (1992) and Visiting scholar at New York University (2007). She coordinates the Specialization Course in Early Childhood Education [colocar o nome completo], the Jewish Trajectories Course (PUC-Rio/MAR) and the Research Group Childhood, Training and Culture/INFOC. She has more recently developed the Project “Learning and teaching Yiddish as resistance and experience of identity” and the Living with Yiddish Center/PUC-Rio: research, courses, cultural projects. She has experience and interests in: childhood, early childhood education and Elementary school education; teacher education and stories; public education and childhood policies; language, reading / writing and literature; language, music and literature. Among the articles and books she has published are: “Among the stones: weapons and dreams at school”; "Literacy, reading and writing: teacher training"; "Childhood, education and human rights"; "Portraits of a challenge: children and adults in early childhood education"; “Early Childhood Education: focuses on dialogue” "Early Childhood Education: training and responsibility"; “Ethics: research and practices with children in Early Childhood Education”; Likhtik/Iluminado (book and double CD).
